ur kitchen is “headquarters”. Not only is it where meals are prepared but it also is the pace where mail, backpacks, and just about everything gets dumped. When we first moved into our home, the cabinets were stained walnut. With the intention of brightening and opening the space, we painted them white but left the island and pantry/wine bar original. We also changed the hardware to matte black. With these small changes, the overall feel is cohesive and consistent with the rest of our home. Being that this area is high traffic, I like to keep the area as minimal and clutter-free as possible. I find that at the end of the day if I take the extra 5-10 minutes to put everything away, the next morning is always a fresh and clean start.
